It’s Gonna Be Alright

Thought I’d be on my way, but I’ve been here for days–and I’m over it
They say that they don’t know but hope the tests will show–and I’m over it
When the doctor comes, it doesn’t look good
She says, “It’s painful, but I think that we should”
And I’m over it

I’m so close to giving in, giving in
But I’m even closer to winning, winning this fight
Everyday’s just another day, another day
And I will do everything, everything to survive
It’s gonna be alright

My hair is falling out, and I can’t keep nothing down–and I’m over it
Ain’t got no energy, and I just want to scream–cause I’m over it
I’ve got bruises not unlike battle scars
When it comes to ass, the cancer kicks hard
And I’m over it

I’m so close to giving in, giving in
But I’m even closer to winning, winning this fight
Everyday’s just another day, another day
And I will do everything, everything to survive
It’s gonna be alright

I’m surrounded by machines that tell them to tell me if I’m gonna make it
I’m living a waking dream where I can’t control if my body can take it
And even though I’m over it, it’s still not over yet

I’m so close to giving in, giving in
But I’m even closer to winning, winning this fight
Everyday’s just another day, another day
And I will do everything, everything to survive
It’s gonna be alright
