Leaving a Broken Heart

It’s over and I feel it, but time must not reveal it before
He understands my leaving
Mistakes: I always make them, hearts are always breaking
But I always have my reasons

And there is not enough time to sort through all the emotions
Once I’ve made up my mind, I’m handing in my notice

Another ending, a new beginning
But it’s over before it starts
Never-ending, this pretending
That he’s left with more than scars
When I’m leaving a broken heart

I can see it coming, but I’m not ready for the running again
Still tired from the last time
He won’t even feel it until it’s to late to heal it
And I’ll be waiting at “not fine”

There are not enough lines to keep me from the highway
Since I’ve made up my mind, there’s nothing more than my way

Another ending, a new beginning
But it’s over before it starts
Never-ending, this pretending
That he’s left with more than scars
When I’m leaving a broken heart

It’s coming down to “glad that I’ve found you”
And “sorry” in the same line
I’m not so sure why he’s given “goodbye”
And “I love you” at the same time

Another ending, a new beginning
But it’s over before it starts
Never-ending, this pretending
That he’s left with more than scars

Another ending, a new beginning
But it’s over before it starts
Never-ending, this pretending
That he’s left with more than scars
When I’m leaving a broken heart
