Practicing Lines

Practicing lines in front of a mirror
Awkwardly trying to make it all clearer
Because last time
We didn’t get that far

Handling calls for second opinions
Trying to stall before making decisions
Because last time
We didn’t have the heart

We both know but we can’t go there
It’s funny how convenience keeps this up
We’re trying but the truth we’re fighting
Is maybe we know love is not enough

Mumbling words to get us through dinner
It’s rather absurd how we act like beginners
Maybe this time
One of us will break

Traveling home with music to cover
Everything’s wrong when we look at each other
Maybe this time
Will be the last mistake

We both know but we can’t go there
It’s funny how convenience keeps this up
We’re trying but the truth we’re fighting
Is maybe we know love is not enough

It’s easier to stay when we’re facing our separate ways

Still practicing lines in front of a mirror
Awkwardly trying to make it all clearer
Because last time
We didn’t get that far
